Course Overview

It is possible to combine both Level 1 and Level 2 training into a single intensive 6-day course. This option is recommended for participants with a good foundation of fitness and confidence working at height who are planning to carry out climbing operations within European forest environments.

The combined course covers foundational access systems, canopy movement techniques, rescue procedures, and the integration of both Stationary Rope Technique (SRT) and Moving Rope Technique (MRT) for efficient movement within the canopy.

Due to the pace and physical demands of the course, participants should be comfortable with sustained physical activity throughout the training week. If you are unsure whether this course is suitable for your current fitness or experience level, please refer to the Q&A section or get in touch directly.

For those intending to apply these skills immediately within remote overseas fieldwork environments, tropical forests, or expedition-based research projects, we strongly recommend contacting us beforehand to discuss the most appropriate training pathway for your project and working conditions.

As with all Level 2 techniques, climbing operations using these systems should be carried out with a minimum of two qualified climbers on site at all times to ensure an effective aerial rescue capability in the event of an emergency.
