Course Overview

Scientific research often takes us into remote and challenging environments where climbing systems, decision-making, and safety considerations differ significantly from standard field conditions.

Our expedition courses teach the same core principles and techniques as Levels 1 and 2, but with a focus on adapting those skills to remote fieldwork, difficult environments, and expedition-style research projects.

Factors such as climate, isolation, rescue capability, equipment logistics, fatigue, and team structure all influence how we climb and work safely in the canopy.

Sylvanaa Alta offers tailored training for researchers, scientists, conservation teams, and expedition personnel preparing for remote fieldwork and canopy access projects.

We strongly encourage getting in touch early in your project planning process so we can discuss the most suitable training options, methodologies, equipment systems, and logistical considerations for your work — helping manage expectations and avoid potential issues before entering the field.
