Annual rescue training is mandatory for certified tree climbers, and refresher training is strongly recommended if you have gone longer than six months without climbing before returning to fieldwork.

Sylvana Alta offers flexible 1–2 day refresher courses designed to revisit core climbing and rescue skills, update working techniques, and familiarise climbers with new equipment and systems.

Training can be tailored to the needs of the individual or group and may include:

• Rescue practice and emergency procedures

• Core climbing system revision

• Equipment updates and trialing new systems

• Canopy movement and positioning

• Research-specific climbing and data collection techniques

These courses are ideal for maintaining competency, rebuilding confidence after time away from climbing, or preparing for upcoming field projects.
